Man attempts suicide after killing his family

ISLAMABAD: A man killed three of his family members including his wife and two daughters and attempted suicide after killing them in Sector I-10/2, on Wednesday. The Sabzi Mandi Police when contacted, informed that on Wednesday evening, native of Mohra Awan in Chakwal Afzal Khan shot his wife and two daughters namely Fatima Raza, 16, and Yusra Raza, 14, for some unknown reason, while he also committed suicide by shooting himself.
A police official, requesting not to be named, said that Afzal Khan had also sent an SMS to his friend before committing suicide in which he stated that he had killed his wife and two daughters and now was going to attempt suicide. In the incident, youngest son of the deceased family Ahmad Raza remained safe as he was at his madrassah. The police recovered a pistol from the crime scene while the bodies were shifted to Pakistan Institute of Medical Science for their post mortem. While talking to “The Spokesman”, a neighbour of the deceased family stated that Afzal and his family moved here from Karachi 2 months ago.
