Labour Day takes young life
ISLAMABAD: While the world was celebrating the International Labour Day on Wednesday, a labourer working in Islamabad lost his life while on work. Omer Khan, 16, was working on a construction site when a heap of sand fell on him. He died on the spot before any medical help could reach him.
Sub-Inspector Muhammad Ashraf told “The Spokesman” that the deceased was digging land on the site in Bahria Enclave. While working, he moved to a water cooler placed in the pit when a heavy heap of sand fell on him which resulted in his death.” He said the police after being informed reached at the location and shifted the body to Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences, but the relatives of the deceased did not allow his post mortem.
Khwaja Muhammad, cousin of the deceased, said that, “It was simply an accident so we do not want to lodge FIR against any one. Our biggest concern is shifting the dead body to our native area Mohmand Agency as soon as possible, as we fear any delay can damage the dead body.”
Meanwhile, the dead body of a 22-year-old gilr was recovered by Shahzad Town Police from the area of Zia Masjid on Wednesday. According to details, the police was inaformed about a female body that was killed, lying on a green belt between Zia Masjid and Khanna Pull area. The police reached at the location and shifted the body to Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences.
Investigation officer of the case Rana Muhammad Ashraf, when contacted, told “The Spokesman”, “The girl aged 22 years was shot on right side of her temporal lobe from a short distance, between 2 to 3 pm at morning. The bullet pierced the skull and exited from the left side of her skull. She was wearing green color Shalwar Kamiz while her name and residence have not been identified yet.”
He said that it was not a suicide case and she was definitely murdered. “Although the police have not found any clue of her murderer yet, but the finger prints on her body will be collected to trace the culprit,” said Rana Ashraf.
He further said that nobody from the relatives of the deceased girl has contacted the police yet, while the body has been shifted to PIMS where the doctors would conduct her post mortem on Tuesday. He said the photograph of the body would be displayed on all the police stations to identify her.
